Trial Run

So this morning, 6 am, Tanner and I headed to Labor and Delivery for our appt. to TURN this baby! She has been completely breech, and at almost 38 weeks, my doctor wanted to try and turn her head down. It was such a weird experience.

They admitted me, and set me up with an IV of whatever - all i know is i was getting so out of it, and couldn't move. I was trying so hard to stay normal and to stay awake because I wanted to see it. Tanner was so wonderful. I'm so glad he was there with me, and he was so encouraging through the whole thing. Her heartbeat was nice and strong, and she was wiggling around like crazy.... nudging me right up into my ribs... NOT FOR LONG!
Finally the doctor came in, tried turning her one way - but she didn't want to (stubborn already), and so he had to try the other way which worked. It felt so weird. I don't want to know what it would have felt like without the drugs, but just a lot of pressure.  I could literally feel her entire body inside of me move - which i guess is precisely what happened - but hopefully she stays head down! She is such a wiggler, and I pray that she won't wiggle herself back up there.

So far, we have our date to induce as long as she stays put. Dec. 20th! Tanner and I were getting everything ready last night just in case we had to have an emergency c-section this morning... packing for a few days, cleaning our house, getting the room ready for my mom, getting our car seat set, it was a great trial run - and I'm sure it will be even crazier on the 19th!!
